Holiday Information

This self-guided cycling holiday in Italy visits one of the country's most beautiful wine regions – The Langhe and Roero in Piemonte. Rivalling Tuscany, this part of northern Italy is famous for its warm hospitality, gastronomy, history and internationally recognised wines. For centuries people have been attracted to the region's rolling landscapes and rustic villages perched high on hill tops and there's no better way to explore it than by bike. With idyllic cycling along country lanes and backroads, through vineyards and medieval hamlets, Langhe and Roero is a perfect holiday destination for leisure cyclists and food and wine lovers alike.

With its imposing historic castles, tranquil winding roads and charming medieval villages, the daily cycling in this region is bursting with culture and tradition. There are endless opportunities to try out the famous wines of Barolo, Barbaresco, Nebbiolo and Moscati and delicious food, with many of the dishes featuring truffles. It's not surprising that these regions have been designated UNESCO World Heritage sites since 2014.

This place to place trip features two nights in some of its locations, giving you plenty of time to explore your destinations. You can explore the area on your bike, stroll through the cobbled stone towns and take your time enjoying an aperitivo in chilled main squares, without having to worry about packing your bags every day. From Canale to Barolo and on to Alba and Asti, your cycling days will be filled with gorgeous landscapes and new things to see and taste. Each season offers a new spectrum of colours; with bright flowers in spring, green vineyards in summer and the autumnal tones of harvest time in September and October which make the vineyards appear to be painted. No matter when you go, there will be spectacular views to admire.

This trip is ideal for E-Bikes, so you can enjoy the rolling hills with an extra boost!
